The No-Waste® Floor was originally developed for the circular “Circl” pavilion of ABN AMRO in Amsterdam. The material composition is based on post-consumer wood, including reclaimed window frames, doors, staircases and former floorboards. Additional reclaimed sources, such as timber from demolished buildings or municipal recycling centres, may also be incorporated, depending on availability.
The floorboards measure 1200 × 135 mm with a thickness of 13–13.5 mm. The construction consists of a 4.5 mm No-Waste® top layer bonded to an FSC-certified backing board using formaldehyde-free adhesive. Variations in colour tones, wood species and hardness reflect the composition of the incoming reclaimed timber stream.
Existing connection holes, cable openings, grooves and cracks in the reclaimed wood are filled with residual wood and resin. This process results in a distinctive pattern and colour variation across the surface. The floor can be supplied either finished or unfinished. A bevel (v-groove) can be applied around each board or along the long edges only, depending on project requirements.
The floor is suitable for underfloor heating systems, heat recovery systems and phase-changing floors. The stated thermal resistance (RC value) ranges between 0.080 and 0.095 W/m²K, depending on wood type and configuration. Indoor relative humidity should be maintained between 50% and 75%, and humidity levels must be measured prior to installation using a hygrometer .
Lead times generally range from 12 to 16 weeks and depend on the availability, volume and moisture content (10–12%) of the reclaimed timber . Delivery takes place from the workshop in Loosbroek, palletised for transport . The No-Waste® Floor is FSC® certified (group member certificate code CU-COC-828395-HA) and produced by HERSO, circular wood processors.
